It’s coming up to three years since Skybound Entertainment and Image Comics surprise-launched their Transformers and G.I. Joe shared comic book universe with the release of Void Rivals #1, a milestone that will be celebrated this June with special Energon Universe Third Anniversary commemorative connecting variant covers.
The four covers, from artist Tom Reilly (G.I. Joe) and colorist Adriano Lucas (Ghost Pepper), feature a grand total of 82 characters from across the Energon Universe – including the next inclusion to the shared world, M.A.S.K., which kicks off its own brand new ongoing series in June – and will be available both in full-color along with black-and-white versions of Reilly’s art.
“It’s that time of the year where we once again celebrate the anniversary of the Energon Universe, now welcoming the stars of our new series M.A.S.K.,” said Executive Editor Ben Abernathy. “And to have Skybound-exclusive Tom Reilly bring his artistic skills, with the colors of Adriano Lucas, is absolute magic!”
