Amazon MGM Studios has released a new trailer and poster for the upcoming mystery comedy The Sheep Detectives, director Kyle Balda’s adaptation of Leonie Swann’s novel Three Bags Full.
When a shepherd who spends his evenings reading detective novels to his sheep turns up dead, his beloved flock decide to band together and become the detectives, determined to solve the case themselves.
The cast includes Hugh Jackman, Nicholas Braun, Nicholas Galitzine, Molly Gordon, Hong Chau, Emma Thompson, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bryan Cranston, Chris O’Dowd, Regina Hall, Patrick Stewart, Bella Ramsey, and Rhys Darby.
In this witty, new breed of mystery, George (Hugh Jackman) is a shepherd who reads detective novels to his beloved sheep every night, assuming they can’t possibly understand. But when a mysterious incident disrupts life on the farm, the sheep realize they must become the detectives. As they follow the clues and investigate human suspects, they prove that even sheep can be brilliant crime-solvers.
The Sheep Detectives arrives in cinemas on May 8th.
