20th Century Studios has debuted the first trailer and a poster for the post-apocalyptic survival thriller The Dog Stars, director Ridley Scott’s adaptation of Peter Heller’s 2012 novel.
Jacob Elordi stars as Hig, a pilot grieving the lost of his wife, living in an abandoned hanger with his dog Jasper and an ex-Marine, trying to survive after a virus wiped out most of humanity. But when they receive a mysterious radio transmission, Hig sets out in hope of finding non-hostile survivors.
Joining Elordi in the cast is Josh Brolin, Margaret Qualley, Guy Pearce, Benedict Wong and Allison Janney. Check out the trailer below…
“The film follows Hig, a pilot who survived the flu but lost his wife. He lives in an abandoned hangar with his dog and an eccentric ex-Marine, fending off roaming scavengers known as Reapers. When a mysterious radio transmission breaks through, Hig begins to imagine that something better might still exist beyond the life he has carved out.”
The Dog Stars arrives in cinemas on August 28th.
