Samuel L. Pierce’s The Get Rich Quick Scheme continues its journey with DIRECTV availability

July 1, 2026 by Amie Cranswick

For independent films, the journey doesn’t end after the credits roll. For actor, writer, director, and producer Samuel L. Pierce, that journey continues as The Get Rich Quick Scheme finds a new audience through its availability on DIRECTV.

Produced through Electric Shock Productions, The Get Rich Quick Scheme marked an important milestone in the company’s evolution. Building on the foundation established by Pierce’s debut feature, the film represented a significant step forward in both creative ambition and commercial reach, helping Electric Shock Productions expand its presence through distribution, theatrical exhibition, and audience engagement.

An ’80s-inspired comedy, The Get Rich Quick Scheme follows Micky and his eccentric group of friends as they chase increasingly outrageous money-making schemes in hopes of striking it rich. Filled with nostalgic humor, colorful personalities, and unpredictable adventures, the film embraces the spirit of classic comedies while exploring friendship, ambition, and the often-hilarious consequences of taking shortcuts to success.

Looking back, Pierce views the film as a turning point for both himself and Electric Shock Productions.

“The Get Rich Quick Scheme was where we really started understanding that filmmaking doesn’t stop when production wraps,” says Pierce. “We learned about distribution, marketing, audience engagement, and everything that goes into getting a film in front of people. It pushed us creatively, but it also pushed us to start thinking like a business.”

Since completing the film, Pierce has continued to expand the company’s ambitions with a diverse slate of productions, including the sporting drama Off The Line, the upcoming sci-fi action feature Jack Harrison: Rogue Protocol, and several new film and television projects currently in development. Each production has helped Electric Shock Productions gain experience across development, production, marketing, distribution, and audience engagement while continuing to refine its identity as an emerging independent production company.

For Pierce, the continued availability of The Get Rich Quick Scheme represents more than another streaming or cable platform, it demonstrates how independent films can continue reaching audiences long after their initial release.

“I think it’s rewarding when a film continues to find new audiences,” Pierce explains. “Every new platform gives someone the opportunity to discover a project they may have missed the first time around. That’s one of the exciting things about distribution today, stories can keep reaching people years after they’re made.”

As Electric Shock Productions continues to grow, Pierce often reflects on how each film has contributed to the company’s evolution.

“Every project has taught us something different,” he says. “The Get Rich Quick Scheme helped us understand the business side of filmmaking in a much deeper way. It gave us confidence that we could not only make films but successfully bring them to audiences.”

Today, Electric Shock Productions continues to build on that momentum with a growing slate of feature films and television projects designed to expand the company’s commercial reach while remaining committed to character-driven storytelling. With The Get Rich Quick Scheme now available to DIRECTV viewers, audiences have another opportunity to experience one of the films that helped shape the early growth of Electric Shock Productions, and the continued evolution of one of independent filmmaking’s emerging young storytellers.

The Get Rich Quick Scheme is on DIRECTV or wherever you stream movies.
