Bret Vyon lives in new Worlds of Doctor Who: Space Security Service audio adventure

July 29, 2026 by Andrew Newton

Agent Anya Kingdom and Mark Seven take on the Daleks in The Worlds of Doctor Who – Space Security Service: Bret Vyon Lives!, a brand-new full-cast audio drama available now from Big Finish Productions.

In this new box set for the Space Security Service, Agent Anya Kingdom (Jane Slavin), her android partner Mark Seven (Joe Sims), and recruit Sola Akinyemi (Madeline Appiah) encounter the Daleks (voiced by Nicholas Briggs), who are intent on taking control of the universe by using powerful new technology that they are confident will bring them success. There’s also a family reunion (of sorts) in store for Anya as she encounters her uncle, Bret Vyon (Jon Culshaw), a man she knows is long dead. Bret Vyon first appeared in the 1965-66 TV serial The Daleks’ Master Plan, played by Nicholas Courtney.

The three adventures in the box set are:

The Man Inside by Simon Guerrier – The Daleks have captured Anya and imprisoned her on a peculiar space station that orbits a peculiar star. The most peculiar thing, however, is the Daleks don’t want to exterminate, instead, they want to break her psychologically. Their attempt to break her is by locking her in a cell with someone Anya knows is a fake: her beloved uncle Bret Vyon. Bret died many years ago, but if Anya is to escape, she’s going to need his help.

The Wages of Death by David Llewellyn – During an undercover operation, Anya and Mark teleport to the remote world of Furiosa 237 where they take jobs on a cargo ship. Their top secret mission is to locate a device called a Progenitor, and cast it into a black hole before it can hatch and unleash its deadly cargo: an army of Daleks. However, there seems to be someone aboard the vessel determined to ensure the Progenitor’s safety.

The Sky is for Sale by James Kettle – After several threats are made against a huge satellite mining Saturn’s atmosphere, Agent Sola Akinyemi is sent to ensure the safety of all on board. Meanwhile, Anya is at HQ seeking to expose corruption, but just as she does, both the HQ and the mining satellite are invaded by Daleks. What sacrifices will Anya and Sola need to make to ensure the Daleks are defeated?

The Worlds of Doctor Who – Space Security Service: Bret Vyon Lives! is available to buy now from Big Finish as a digital download for £19.99.
