The swashbuckling swordsman Zorro has been an iconic vigilante since his creation in 1919 by Johnston McCulley. Since then he has appeared across films and literature, including 1998’s The Mask of Zorro starring Antonio Banderas and its 2005 sequel The Legend of Zorro. Now, Big Finish Productions has announced the story of these two films will continue this November with The Legacy of Zorro.
In this upcoming audio drama, Martin Marquez takes the role of Alejandro Murrieta, aka Zorro, continuing the fight against the merciless villains who would harm the innocent people of California.
In The Legacy of Zorro, five years have passed since the American Civil War in 1870, and the names and deeds of Zorro have become a myth in his absence. Unfortunately for the people of California, former Confederates Catherine Newbold Hill and Sheriff Nathan Longstreet have been kidnapping hundreds of people to use as slave labour in a dig for the lost gold of Don Rafael Montero. When one person escapes, Alejandro Murrieta dons the mask of Zorro once again.
