Hans Zimmer has retired from scoring superhero movies after Batman v Superman

March 30, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Bad news for any fans looking forward to hearing more of Hans Zimmer’s superhero scores, as the composer has revealed to the BBC that he has now “officially retired from the superhero business”.

“I did Batman Begins with Christopher Nolan twelve years ago. So The Dark Knight trilogy may be three movies to you. To me, it was 11 years of my life. Then I did [Man of Steel], then I did [Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice]. I have officially retired from the superhero business.”

Zimmer also scored The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but it seems he’s forgotten about that one. If only we all could…

Are you sad that we won’t be getting any more superhero scores from Hans Zimmer? And who would you like to see scoring Justice League now that he’s out of the equation? Let us know in the comments below…
