CBS is set to boldly go to Toronto this September, with Pop Goes the News reporting that the network has booked out studio space for its new Star Trek series.
The show “will introduce new characters seeking imaginative new worlds and new civilizations while exploring the dramatic contemporary themes that have been a signature of the franchise since its inception in 1966.”
Bryan Fuller, creator of Hannibal and former writer on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager, is serving as showrunner on the new series, and while details are being kept firmly under wraps, recent rumours have suggested it will be set in the original pre-reboot timeline, taking place between Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country and Star Trek: The Next Generation.
