Aquaman’s James Wan gives his thoughts on the critical backlash to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

June 2, 2016 by Luke Owen

It was a film that critics hated and certainly left a bad taste in many movie goer’s mouths, but everyone had an opinion on Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Over the weekend we heard from Jeremy Irons – who wasn’t a fan – and now Aquaman director James Wan has given his thoughts.

“I think it’s a world that is so difficult to control, and always expectations of fans are out of this world, right? No pun intended,” he told Bad Taste when asked about the critical and fan backlash. “I know how hard it is, from making Conjuring 2, how much anticipation there is just from the first movie. I think you do the best you can, and tell the best story you can.”

Wan mentions that Snyder is “being very respectful” with the character with regards to his appearance in Justice League.
