SDCC: Lucasfilm reveals details on Star Wars: Aftermath – Empire’s End and new titles

July 23, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Originally published July 23, 2016. Updated April 15, 2018.

During yesterday’s Star Wars Publishing panel at the San Diego Comic-Con, Lucasfilm offered fans some details on their upcoming slate of Star Wars novels, including the concluding part of Chuck Wendig’s Aftermath trilogy, a Poe Dameron book, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story tie-ins and new young reader titles.

Wendig’s Star Wars: Aftermath and Star Wars: Aftermath – Life Debt follow-up Star Wars: Aftermath – Empire’s End is set for publication in January 2017, with Wendig revealing that he’s just submitted his first draft to the Lucasfilm Story Group, although he wasn’t giving much else away, stating that: “The Empire ends. I can tell you that much. The rest is some dramatic stuff. Jakku figures in considerably.”

The Story Group’s Matt Miller announced Poe Dameron: Flight Log from Michael Kogge, “a collection of in-universe material that reveals new facts about Oscar Isaac’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens character,” along with four Rogue One tie-ins: Rogue One: Rebel Dossier, young reader titled Secret Missions, The Art of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and an adult coloring book based on the movie.

And for the young children out there, it was also announced that cartoonist Katie Cook will follow up ABC-3PO with Obi 1-2-3, which is intended to help kids learn to count using Star Wars characters, aliens and vehicles.
