Ethan Hawke reuniting with Gattaca director Andrew Niccol

October 24, 2013 by admin

Deadline has confirmed that Ethan Hawke (Before Midnight) will be teaming again with Andrew Niccol (Lord of War); the first time they worked together was the brilliant science fiction film Gattaca.

The collaboration will be an as yet titled thriller centring on “a fighter pilot who becomes a drone pilot. Fighting the Taliban by remote by day and going him to the suburbs to see his wife and kids, he begins to question his mission.”

Ethan Hawke is an incredibly skilled actor and although he mixes old fashioned 80s B-movies like Getaway with art house fair like Before Midnight, his charisma and strangely youthful persona lifts any film he is in. No word on when the film will open or when filming will begin, but I will welcome this reunion with glee.
