Paul Feig to produce Peanuts movie

October 24, 2013 by admin

Paul Feig, director of Bridesmaids and The Heat, is to produce and oversee the animated film Peanuts, based on the classic Charlie Brown series. Feig commented that “growing up, Peanuts was my Star Wars and influenced everything in my career, especially Freaks and Geeks.”

Feig’s role as producer comes as the first part of his first-look deal with Fox and it will be interesting to see exactly how Feig deals with a far more family friendly tone compared to his previous two features.

Directed by Horton Hears a Who!’s Steve Martino, Peanuts is scheduled open on November 6th, 2015. To catch up on Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the gang, be sure to check out the holiday classic It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. That or just watch The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror parody.
