X-Men: Apocalypse’s Lana Condor joins Alita: Battle Angel

October 14, 2016 by Gary Collinson

X-Men: Apocalypse star Lana Condor has become the latest addition to the cast of Alita: Battle Angel, the upcoming manga adaptation from director Robert Rodriguez and producer James Cameron. Condor – who portrayed Jubilee in Apocalypse and will next be seen in Patriots Day – is set to play the character of Koyomi, an orphaned teen with connections to several characters.

Alita: Battle Angel sees Rosa Salazar (Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials) leading the cast as the titular Alita, an amnesiac cyborg who puts her martial arts skills to use as a bounty hunter after being rescued from a junk yard. She will be joined in the big budget sci-fi by Christoph Waltz (Spectre), Keean Johnson (Nashville), Jackie Earle Haley (Preacher), Ed Skrein (Deadpool), Eiza Gonzalez (From Dusk Till Dawn), Mahershala Ali (Luke Cage) and Jorge Lendeborg Jr. (Spider-Man: Homecoming).

Production on Alita: Battle Angel will begin this month ahead of the film’s release on July 20th 2018.
