Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson wants to see Fantastic Four back with Marvel

January 27, 2017 by Gary Collinson

While the X-Men may appear out of bounds given 20th Century Fox’s success with the franchise, there’s been a lot of speculation from fans as to whether Marvel’s First Family could find themselves back home at Marvel Studios at some point, particularly following 2015’s disastrous Fantastic Four reboot.

Seeing Mister Fantastic and company alongside Earth’s Mightiest Heroes as part of the MCU is something that is sure to appeal to many Marvel fans, and it looks like we can include Scott Derrickson in that list, with the Doctor Strange director telling Screen Rant:

“I still have hope that Fantastic Four can be properly brought into the MCU because a lot of Doctor Strange – that’s the comment I read the most during that. I love those characters and I think that they still deserve another shot at finding a true home in the MCU. I still have hope for that. That’s my honest answer.”

Officially, 20th Century Fox still has a sequel to Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four on its slate, but given how hard the first movie tanked, one would have to assume Fantastic Four 2 is highly unlikely. So, it’s certainly not beyond the realm of possibility that Marvel and Fox could reach a deal at some point in the future…

Would you like to see the Fantastic Four back at Marvel? And who would you cast in the roles? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
