Timothy Spall to star in Philip K. Dick series Electric Dreams

March 21, 2017 by Samuel Brace

Timothy Spall is confirmed to star in the Philip K. Dick anthology series Electric Dreams.

It was reported last month that Amazon had picked up the anthology series based on the work of author Philip K. Dick, and we now know that actor Timothy Spall will star in one of the episodes.

The show, getting its inspiration for its tile from Dick’s novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep – the story which would later be adapted as the sci-fi classic Blade Runner – is to contain various stories from the writer’s mind.

One such tale is The Commuter, a short story by Dick, and in which Spall will be the star. The Commuter will be the first episode of a 10 part series and tells the story of a man who discovers the commuters at his train station are taking a trip to a town that shouldn’t exist.

Tom Harper of War & Peace and Peaky Blinders will be directing the episode. Bryan Cranston is a producer on the show and is expected to feature in the series as well.
