Legion season 2 likely to consist of more episodes than the first

March 30, 2017 by Samuel Brace

The second season of X-Men universe TV show Legion is likely to feature more episodes compared to its first season.

With season one of the bizarre mutant series Legion finishing up its eight episode run last night on FX, attention is now turning to the future and the already confirmed season two of the show.

The series which follows the son of Professor X – David Haller (Dan Stevens) – has built up a small but passionate fan base ruing its short run, with audiences being impressed by the creative risks taken by showrunner Noah Hawley.

And while the eight episodes contained within its first season may be too few for some fans, they can probably look forward to a few extra instalments of the show when it returns for season two.

During a recent interview with TVLine, Noah Hawley spoke about this very topic, saying that more episodes are indeed likely.

“My feeling with the first season, because it’s such a complex show, was that eight hours was the right amount. Now that the show has its identity… we have the opportunity to broaden it a little bit. All that means a lot more work for me in the immediate future, but I have nobody to blame but myself.”

Whether more episodes are what Legion needs, or if the concise and focused nature of season one is something that will be sorely missed next time around will remain to be seen.

The good news is that there will be more reality warping fun to be had when Legion returns to screens sometime in 2018.
