While we know that Brie Larson will be playing Carol Danvers in the upcoming Captain Marvel, we don’t really know much else. We have been given hints, but that’s about it. Well, thanks to the folks over at CinemaBlend, we may at least know what the costume will look like after they attended a press screening of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
Don’t get too excited – Captain Marvel isn’t in the film – but they were invited to an open house and given a glimpse at the costume. Here’s the report below:
“While discussing the process of visual development at the company, a group of reporters including myself got to tour the inside of concept artist Andy Park’s office, and it was there that we got our first look at the costume. The great news that all admires (sic) of the character will appreciate is that the design looks like it is ripped straight from the recent run of comics… The artwork didn’t include Captain Marvel’s sash — instead replacing it with a dark red belt matching her boots, her gloves, and the top of her uniform — but other than that the look is exactly the one that fans are familiar with. As far as texture goes, the design made the costume look like light armor, featuring a weave similar to what Chris Evans’ Captain America wears (it definitely looked like it could stop a bullet). The artwork featured also suggested that the protection will very much come in handy, as one piece showed Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers going toe-to-toe with a couple of giant green robots.”
Of course, this is all subject to change. However, this description does sound like a good fit (no pun intended) for the character on screen. Are you a fan of this look? Let us know in the comments!
