Billions season 2 finale ratings beats season premiere

May 9, 2017 by Samuel Brace

Originally published May 9, 2017. Updated November 30, 2022.

The season two finale of the Showtime series Billions outperformed the season’s premiere episode in terms of ratings.

The Damien Lewis and Paul Giamatti-led drama aired the finale of its second season over on Showtime this past Sunday, and folks will be pleased to hear that more tuned into watch than did for the season’s opening episode.

According to Nielsen data, Sunday’s finale drew in 1.02 million viewers, averaging 753,000 in its initial airing. All of this means that the finale outperformed the premier by 35 percent. Quite the upgrade.

The season two premiere also managed to improve upon season one’s final episode which happened to pull in 1.01 million viewers last year.

Over its multiple airings, the season two premier achieved 1.32 million viewers.

This will of course be good news to all involved, including the fans who already have a third season to look forward to – announced back in March.
