Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. renewed for season 5

May 12, 2017 by Ricky Church

With its finale airing next week, ABC and Marvel have been keeping fans on their toes about the future of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but they need no longer worry. The Marvel series has just been renewed for a fifth season that will air later this year. The news was confirmed by several people involved in the show, including showrunner Maurissa Tancharoen and visual effects supervisor Mark Kolpac, over social media. Agent Coulson actor Clark Gregg also tweeted out the news of the show’s renewal, along with a behind the scenes photo of what looks like the cast celebrating…

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will end its fourth season next week with the episode ‘World’s End’. Once it comes back in the fall, it will air alongside fellow MCU series Inhumans. The first two episodes of Inhumans will be released in IMAX theaters ahead of its televised premiere and, given that the Inhumans have featured on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. before, its possible we’ll see a crossover between the shows next season, although the producers of both shows have downplayed this possibility.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. stars Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Melinda May, Chloe Bennet as Daisy Johnson, Iain De Caestecker as Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Jemma Simmons, Henry Simmons as Alphonso “Mack” MacKenzie and Jason O’Mara as Jeffrey Mace.
