Nickelodeon renews SpongeBob SquarePants for 12th season

SpongeBob SquarePants, the number one animated kids show on TV, has been renewed for a twelfth season of television by its network Nickelodeon.

The 26 episode season is scheduled to begin in 2019 which will be the series’ 20th year anniversary.

Season 11 of the show is set to debut this very summer, and Nickelodeon has also greenlit a third SpongeBob movie which is set for release during 2019 as well.

SpongeBob SquarePants revolves around the underwater adventures of SpongeBob, his friends Patrick, Sandy, Mr. Krabs, Plankton, and Squidward.

The series, which debuted back in 1999, is executive produced by the show’s creator Stephen Hillenburg, and features the voices of Tom Kenny, Bill Fagerbakke, Rodger Bumpass, Clancy Brown, Mr. Lawrence, and Carolyn Lawrence.
