The Top 5 Rarest CSGO Skins

June 28, 2017 by Gary Collinson

When talking about rare CSGO Skins, it usually means a melee weapon or knife skins. Even though there are skins for guns, knife skins are uncommon and more expensive because you can only get them by opening crates. Skin drops that happen after a match only have gun skins, not melee skins. Keep in mind that there are rarer skins within the rare subcategory of knife skins.

Rare CSGO Skins for Knives

Karambit Doppler Black Pearl: a popular knife because of its unusual look and cool spinning animations. The chances of getting this weapon are higher than the Butterfly Knife. At any rate, Doppler skins have many variations, and the rarest is the Black Pearl. The skin covers the knife with a smooth purplish black marbled texture. Only one player was lucky enough to get one, and it seems they’re holding on to it tight. Someone offered $40,000, but the owner isn’t budging.

StatTrak M9 Bayonet Crimson Web: is hot because the M9 Bayonet is a steady knife favored by many players. With fresh and sturdy features, this knife is a very rare.

Karambit Case Hardened Blue Gem: another Karambit favorite. The Case Hardened skin has differences, but it focuses on a single color. The Blue Gem color covers the whole blade (or at least 90% of it). Even though the skin isn’t very uncommon, the Blue Gem model is one of a kind.

StatTrak Butterfly Knife Crimson Web: research has revealed that players can only get the knife by opening an Operation Breakout Case. Even then, the likelihood of getting one is <1%! Combined with the chances of getting the Crimson Web skin and the StatTrak device, this knife is hard to get. Currently, there are six for sale on the market, but they are Field-Tested quality.

Karambit Urban Masked: the skin is so rare that not many gamers know about it. There’s only one unboxed! The skin is white with gray accents and yes, it does look slick. Whoever unboxed the skin is lucky and is keen on keeping it.

Additional Notes

The five knife skins aren’t cheap CSGO Skins, assuming they are Factory New quality. Field-Tested skins are the most common, Minimal Wear and Well-Worn skins are uncommon, while Factory New and Battle-Scarred are the rarest. Even though Battle-Scarred skins are also unique, their visual quality is less desired than Factory New styles.

The StatTrak version of the skins counts confirmed kills made with that weapon. Skins with this characteristic are also rare, which raises the value of the skin. Combined with the rarity of the skin, finding a top notch StatTrak weapon skin is like winning the jackpot.

To wrap things up, rare Factory New quality plus StatTrak characteristic equals expensive skin. However, there are other factors, such as popularity and player demand that would further boost or sink a skin’s price. Kudos to whoever manages to get rare CSGO Knife Skins.
