Ghostbusters 3 to start shooting Spring 2015

July 24, 2014 by admin

Could the long-gestating Ghostbusters 3 finally be heading into production? Well, according to Dan Aykroyd, it very well could be.

In an interview with The Today Show, the original writer and star said that, as far as he knows, Ghostbusters 3 will start production in spring 2015.

“It looks like we’ll be in pre-production in the spring now, from what I’m hearing,” Aykroyd told Carson Daly during his interview. “It should be good.”

It should be noted that is not the first time Aykroyd has said the movie is going into production, so perhaps take this one with a pinch of salt.

Here’s the video clip so you can see for yourself:

Ghostbusters 3 has been written by Ethan Cohen (Men in Black 3) but no director has been named, though Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland) is rumoured to be the front runner. Aykroyd is to return as Ray Stanz alongside Ernie Hudson as Winston Zeddemore. There is still no solid news on whether Bill Murray will return as Peter Venkman, but both Sigourney Weaver and Rick Moranis has expressed an interest in returning as Dana Barrett and Louis Tully respectively.

Ghostbusters, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, is to return to cinemas for a limited run in the States in August. A Blu-Ray bundle with both Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II will be released in September.
