Deathstroke movie in development, Hawkeye gets an upgrade in Avengers 4, Shazam director expecting backlash and more – Daily News Roundup

October 26, 2017 by admin

DEATHSTROKE: THE MOVIE

Last year it was announced that Joe Manganiello had been cast as the DC assassin and supervillian Slade Wilson – better known as Deathstroke – in Ben Affleck’s The Batman. However with Affleck removed from the director’s chair and new helmer Matt Reeves re-writing from scratch, there were some questions about whether we’d see Mananiello in the costume after all. Well according to The Wrap, The Raid‘s Gareth Evans has pitched a Deathstroke movie and it’s now in development at Warner Bros. Read more here.

KINGPIN RETURNS

Also announced yesterday was the return of Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk in the third season of Daredevil. “Vincent is an exceptional actor who returns with the incredible gravitas he brings to Fisk,” Daredevil‘s executive producer and head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb said in a statement. A NEW LOOK FOR HAWKEYE

For quite some time there have been rumours that Hawkeye will get an upgrade in Avengers 4, instead taking on the role on Ronin. Well looking at some new set photos, that could be the case. Check them out here.

A FOURTH THOR?

Taikia Waititi appeared to have a blast working on Thor: Ragnarok, and has revealed in an interview with Radio Times that he would be willing to come back for another outing. “I think they’re a fantastic studio, and we had a great time working together,” he said. “And they were very supportive of me, and my vision. They kind of gave me a lot of free reign, but also had a lot of ideas as well. A very collaborative company. I’d love to do another Thor film, because I feel like I’ve established a really great thing with these guys, and friendship. And I don’t really like any of the other characters.” Read more here.

SHAZAM BACKLASH

It was announced earlier in the week that DC Films’ Shazam! was finally moving forward with a release date under director David F. Sandberg. When talking about the movie on Twitter, Sandberg admits that he expects a lot of backlash from fans – regardless of what he puts on screen. “It will be an interesting experience making a movie where no matter what choices are made there will be some who passionately hate you,” he tweeted. TERMINATOR KEEPING IT SIMPLE

Speaking of backlash, and the convoluted plot for Terminator: Genisys has caused director Tim Miller and producer James Cameron to keep things as simple as possible with the sixth entry – at least according to lead star Arnold Schwarzenegger. “[James] Cameron and Tim [Miller] came up with a concept where they can continue on with the T-800 but make a whole new movie,” he said. “What they are doing now with this one is basically to just take a few very basic characters, like Linda Hamilton’s character and my character, and dismiss everything else. Just move away from all these rules of the timeline and other characters.” Read more here.

INTERVIEW OF THE DAY

We’re re-posting it because we love him so much, but here’s our chat with Thor: Ragnarok‘s Jeff Goldblum.
