Father’s Promise DLC arrives for This War of Mine

This War of Mine was a gritty story about a group of civilians trying to survive in a besieged city.  It saw players struggling with lack of food, medicine and constant danger from snipers and hostile scavengers. In short it provided a unique perspective of war seldom (if ever) seen in games.  Now it is time to set foot back into this world as 11 Bit Studios announce the release of the Father’s Promise DLC which marks the opening of the first season of This War of Mine: Stories.  The new trailer below provides a glimpse of the story…

In the Father’s Promise DLC the city is still besieged and food, water, heat and medicine are still in short supply but there is still a family trying to preserve the last pieces of humanity in these times of despair, cruelty and strife.  Players take the role of Adam, a father who is trying to save his daughter from the horrors of the city.

Father’s Promise DLC features:

  • A brand new storyline based on an audio-drama written by the famous Polish author, Łukasz Orbitowski
  • 4 completely new locations
  • 5 reconstructed and remastered locations
  • set of new game mechanics: dialogue and clue searching systems

The Father’s Promise DLC is available from Steam now and requires This War of Mine.  Other episodes in the Stories series will continue in 2018.
