Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 to shoot in June, casting reportedly underway for Gwen Stacy

December 10, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Following on from official confirmation at Brazil’s Comic-Con Experience from Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige that Jon Watts will return to the director’s chair, we now have a report from Omega Underground about the production dates for the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel.

According to the report, filming on the Marvel and Sony co-production will get underway in Atlanta in June, and run through to October-December. The movie will reteam Watts with screenwriters Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna, who worked on the script for the first movie.

Meanwhile, it seems that Tom Holland’s Peter Parker may be getting a new love interest in the as-yet-untitled movie, as the site has also shared an audition tape featuring unknown French actress Louna Fournier reading for the part of Gwen Stacy.

The report goes on to speculate that Gwen could be a foreign exchange student attending Peter Parker’s school. That being said, it is of course possible that Fournier is simply responding to an open casting call, given that Gwen and George Stacy aren’t exactly the most French-sounding names.

Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 is slated for release on July 5th 2019 and will launch Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Spidey’s appearances in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4.
