Elizabeth Olsen joins Tom Hiddleston for Hank Williams biopic

September 12, 2014 by Scott J. Davis

In a strange Marvel team-up, Elizabeth Olsen (Avengers: Age of Ultron, Godzilla) has signed on to join Tom “Loki” Hiddleston (The Avengers, Only Lovers Left Alive) in the upcoming Hank Williams biopic, I Saw The Light.

Olsen has been signed to play Williams’ wife, Audrey Mae, in the film, which is being co-produced by Brett Ratner’s RatPac Entertainment company. Long-time producer Marc Abraham (Flash of Genius) is set to direct the film from his own script, which is based on the book Hank Williams: The Biography which was published in 1994 and written by Colin Escott, George Merritt and William MacEwen.

Producers have also secured the rights obtained rights from Sony ATV for many of Williams’ songs and catalogue, including “Your Cheatin’ Heart,” “I”m So Lonesome I Could Cry” and “Hey Good Lookin’.”

Set to go into production next month, I Saw The Light is set for a 2015 release, more than likely around award season towards the end of the year.
