UPDATE: Lindsay Lohan wants to play Batgirl for Joss Whedon

January 16, 2018 by Gary Collinson

After several years in the wilderness, Lindsay Lohan is gearing up to embark on a career comeback attempt, with the Mean Girls star set to appear in the upcoming werewolf film The Shadow Within and the British sitcom Sick Note, and it seems she’s now set her sights on another role.

Taking to Twitter, Lohan has expressed her interest in taking on the title role of Barbara Gordon in Warner Bros.’ planned Batgirl movie from director Joss Whedon, asking fans to retweet if they’d like to see her cast as the crime-fighter. Remarkably, there’s almost 2000 people who think this is a good idea…

Along with Batgirl, Lohan has recently revealed that she is still pushing to get a sequel to 2004’s Mean Girls off the ground (after stating back in 2016 that she had written a treatment herself), and also threw her hat into the ring to play Ariel in Disney’s live-action The Little Mermaid.

Whedon was reportedly set to begin work on Batgirl early this year after finishing up with Justice League, although the mixed reception to the DC team-up movie has led to a major reshuffle at DC Films and leaves question marks hanging over a number of projects. Nevertheless, it is said that Whedon is still attached to the Batgirl movie, for the time being at least.
