Halloween begins filming, new cast members announced

January 14, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Blumhouse Productions has officially announced that filming is now underway on the new Halloween movie, which is being directed by David Gordon Green from a script he’s written with Danny McBride.

Original Halloween director John Carpenter serves as executive producer, and will compose the score, while the film also sees the return of original stars Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode and Nick Castle as Michael Myers, a.k.a. The Shape.

Accompanying the start of production is news that Virginia Gadner (Runaways), Miles Robbins (Mozart in the Jungle), Dylan Arnold (Mudbound) and Drew Scheid (Stranger Things) have joined the cast, and will portray school friends of Allyson, the granddaughter of Laurie Strode. Andi Matichak (Orange Is the New Black) has previously been announced as playing Allyson, with Judy Greer (War for the Planet of the Apes) as Laurie’s daughter Karen Strode.
