Original Flash star Amanda Pays returning as Dr. Tina McGee in new show

September 16, 2014 by Gary Collinson

We already know that John Wesley Shipp – Barry Allen in the original 1990s TV series The Flash – is set to feature in The CW’s new Arrow spin-off as Barry’s father Henry Allen, and now Variety has revealed that his co-star Amanda Pays will be returning in the exact same role she played in the CBS series – that of Dr. Tina McGee.

“When we decided to bring Tina onto our version of The Flash, who better to get than the amazing actress who originated the part?” states executive producer Andrew Kreisberg. “Like with John Wesley Shipp, we are so proud and excited to have another actor from the original series join us on our new adventures for Barry Allen.”

The Flash premieres on the CW on Tuesday October 7th. Watch a five minute trailer for the series here.
