Dolph Lundgren Takes On 4 Towers, War Pigs and Sharks

September 23, 2014 by Gary Collinson

With the third Expendables film behind him, Dolph Lundgren has a busy line up on the horizon. Filming will commence on 4 Towers in November, High Five Films and Imago Films have announced. Co-starring with Dolph will be Scott Adkins (who has already appeared in three films with Lundgren) as well as Gianni Capaldi (who has also appeared with Lundgren three times).

Lundgren stars as Viro, a Serbian war hero who takes hostages at a powerful company’s dinner in an 11th century castle in a bid to capture the legendary stolen gold of Mussolini. Taking on Italy’s tactical swat teams and an Interpol unit (Scott Adkins and Gianni Capaldi), he may have captured a hostage who could prove too much to handle. Intense combat, thrilling knife fighting and explosive action follows Viro as he attempts to escape with the cursed gold and treasure.

Lundgren is apparently undergoing knife training for the blade based combat. You’d think having starred as Gunnar Jensen, and wielding a 20 inch blade through three films he’d have had some knife combat training already, but perhaps not.

Lundgren is also filming WW2 action/adventure film War Pigs, which sounds like a cross between Inglourious Basterds and The Expendables. Director Ryan Little (Saints and Soldiers) will orchestrate the action which sees a rag tag unit of misfits known as the War Pigs having to go behind enemy lines to exterminate Nazis by any means necessary. Mickey Rourke and Luke Goss will co-star. There is also currently a Kickstarter campaign running for the film if anyone wants to contribute. See here.

Before all that gets under way, Lundgren is currently filming The Lake (Jerry Dugan), a thriller to be shot in the Alpine Region of Sierra Nevada about fresh water Sharks in Lake Tahoe. Presumably at some point in the film Dolph will need a bigger boat.
