John Boyega is hoping for a “much longer” fight scene in Star Wars: Episode IX

March 7, 2018 by Samuel Brace

John Boyega has revealed that he would like Finn to be involved in a “much longer” fight sequence during Star Wars: Episode IX.

While fans are enjoying reliving one of Star Wars: The Last Jedi’s most exciting moments, thanks to Lucasfilm releasing a clip of  the throne room fight scene with Rey and Kylo, John Boyega is hoping that there will be a little more action in his future for the movie’s sequel.

Finn went up against his nemesis Captain Phasma during The Last Jedi but the fight didn’t last as long as Boyega would have hoped for, explaining as much to IGN in a recent interview: “Yeah, man, I didn’t expect it to be that quick if I’m being honest with you. I was like, wait, wait, what? He’s been like ramped up for a big fight and then it was over in a second. [laughs] But, hopefully, Finn gets to face someone else or has a fight that’s much longer by the way [in Episode IX].”

Whether or not Boyega will get his wish will remain to be seen. But who could Finn go up against? Episode IX won’t see Phasma return yet again, only to be defeated for a third time by the former storm trooper, will it?
