SPOILERS: The Joker spotted in Gotham set photos?

March 24, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Ever since his debut in the first season of the show, fans have been convinced that Cameron Monaghan’s Jerome Valeska is being lined up as Gotham’s incarnation of the iconic Batman villain The Joker.

Despite obvious – and deliberate – similarities, the show’s cast and crew have remained adamant that Jerome is not The Joker, with actor David Mazouz (Bruce Wayne) stating recently that: “He is not the Joker, that’s all I’m saying. He is definitely the inspiration for the Joker and the way that the Joker comes into the show is, in my opinion, one of the most brilliant things Gotham has ever done.”

Well, with The Joker officially on his way to Gotham, some new set photos have arrived online which appear to show Monaghan as the Clown Prince of Crime, complete with purpose clothing, pale skin and red lips.

As the photos show, Monaghan is no longer sporting Jerome’s facial scarring, so it’s a little unclear what exactly is going on here. We shall find out soon enough however, with Gotham airing uninterrupted now on Thursday nights on Fox through to its season four finale on May 10th.
