DriveClub developer to offer free DLC as compensation

November 16, 2014 by Tom Powter

The release of PS4 exclusive racer DriveClub has been poor at best, with serious server issues and the delay of the free PS Plus edition of the game, but it seems developer Evolution wants to make up for it.

Those who purchased the full game will be receiving the first piece of DLC for absolutely nothing. “We will be offering the premium DLC packs for November free to those who purchased the full game,” Evolution said on their Facebook page. This DLC pack includes the Ignition Expansion Pack, Photo-Finish Tour Pack and two livery packs, which contain a total of five new cars, 22 new tour events, 10 new trophies and 10 new livery items.

Due to this change, the Season Pass has been extended to include four additional adds-on in July 2015, meaning the paid DLC will still amount to 38 cars, 176 new events and 80 unique liveries.

Evolution expressed their regret at the current state of the PS Plus edition, saying: “Although currently we do not have an update regarding the timing for the launch of the PS Plus Edition, we are continually working on improving the server capacity to enable us to launch the PS Plus Edition as quickly as possible,” Evolution stated.

“Once again, thank you for your support. We are truly sorry that the road to delivering the full DriveClub racing experience on PS4 has been such a rocky one.”
