Young Cersei cast in Game of Thrones season 5

January 6, 2015 by Gary Collinson

There’s been rumours that the upcoming fifth season of Game of Thrones will employ flashbacks for the first time, and now those have been confirmed by fan site Watchers on the Wall, who have revealed that Nell Williams (The Revolting World of Stanley Brown) has joined the epic fantasy series as young Cersei.

The site reports that the flashback involves “Cersei and a friend of hers visiting with an older woman called Maggy the Frog”, which should give readers of A Song of Ice and Fire some idea of what to expect from the scene.

Furthermore, the article also states that Hattie Gotobed (Snow White and the Huntsman) has recently shot a role for the new season, and will portray a character called Ghita.

Game of Thrones returns to HBO in the spring.
