Arrow showrunner wants Batman to feature in the show; teases crossover with Supergirl

January 6, 2015 by admin

Having already crossed over with The Flash, Arrow showrunner and Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim is keen to add a few other familiar faces from the Justice League to his roster.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter (along with Agent Carter showrunners Tara Butters and Michele Fazeka), Guggenheim teased a potential crossover with CBS’s Supergirl saying, “it’s possible” and when asked about which other characters he’d like to introduce, Guggenheim was keen for a certain Dark Knight.

“At the end of the day it’d be so awesome to have Batman on the show,” Guggenheim says. “That’d be really cool. I don’t think that will be happening anytime soon, but you never know…one day. One thing we’re always saying…we never expected to have had the Huntress, Deathstroke or Deadshot; we ended up with a lot more DC Comics characters becoming part of the show than we had ever planned. It wasn’t initially part of the pitch or the conception of the show. Now here we are in our third season and we’ve Flash and the Suicide Squad and we’re going to have Katana and we have Ray Palmer, and it seems like you could field an entire show off the characters that we have introduced on Arrow. That’s so beyond anything we expected. That’s a long-winded way of saying I’ve learned not to expect anything or make any predictions because the reality has far exceeded any of our initial predictions or initial conceptions.”

Keen eyed viewers will have noticed the Easter Egg in The Flash which shows that Bruce Wayne (or at least Wayne Tech) exists in this Universe, so could plans be in place?

Arrow returns from its Winter hiatus on January 21st on CW.
