Scoot McNairy talks Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, calls Zack Snyder an “incredible filmmaker” and an “incredible visionary”

January 22, 2015 by admin

Those of you who frequent our website often will notice in posts about Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Scoot McNairy is noted as starring in the movie in a “as-yet-unrevealed roles”. During an interview with USA Today, McNairy was grilled about the movie, but wasn’t letting up any information.

“Man, I would love to spend hours with you about it but I don’t know if you’d see me in another movie if I did,” the actor joked before calling director Zack Snyder “an incredible filmmaker and an incredible visionary”.

“Playing in that world with comic books you’ve been reading since you were a kid, being someone in that world, it’s awesome,” he added.

Rumours about McNairy’s character have spread from Jimmy Olsen, Dick Grayson to other iconic characters like Metallo and The Flash (before it was announced Ezra Miller would be playing the role). These rumours were furthered when a set photo of him wearing bright green socks suggested his character would have CGI effects over the top.

“It’s definitely 100% a character I’ve never played and I can’t speak too freely on it, but yeah, getting into that thing was definitely something I had to wrap my head around emotionally in order to play that character,” he teases. “But with that being said, I had a lot of fun doing it when I was in the process of shooting on it — my head was in a different place but I’m really excited to see how it turns out and what they do with it and see the film.”

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice sees Zack Snyder directing a cast that includes returning Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill (Superman), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Diane Lane (Martha Kent), Laurence Fishburne (Perry White) and Harry Lennix (General Swanwick) alongside Ben Affleck (Argo) as Batman, Gal Gadot (Fast & Furious 6) as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones) as Aquaman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jesse Eisenberg (Now You See Me) as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons (The Borgias) as Alfred Pennyworth and Jena Malone (Sucker Punch), Holly Hunter (The Piano), Callan Mulvey (300: Rise of an Empire), Tao Okamoto (The Wolverine) in as-yet-unrevealed roles.
