Chiwetel Ejiofor in early talks for Marvel’s Doctor Strange

January 23, 2015 by Gary Collinson

According to The Hollywood Reporter, 12 Years a Slave star Chiwetel Ejiofor is in early talks with Marvel Studios about boarding the upcoming Phase Three release Doctor Strange.

The report doesn’t mention a specific character, but speculates that it could be the villain (thought to be Baron Mordo), or either Wong, Doctor Strange’s servant, or The Ancient One, the original Sorcerer Supreme and mentor to Stephen Strange.

Doctor Strange is being directed by Scott Derrickson (Sinister), with Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock) set to take on the title role. The film is slated for release in November 2016.
