Big Hero 6 fends off Kingsman: The Secret Service at the UK box office

UK box office top ten and analysis for the weekend of Friday 30th January to Sunday 1st February 2015…

Disney’s animated Marvel adaptation Big Hero 6 finally made it to this side of the Pond this past weekend, with the film fending off the challenge of Kingsman: The Secret Service to take top spot with £4,293,286.

Matthew Vaughn’s spy caper Kingsman was forced to settle for second place despite pulling in £4,241,292, while Paul Thomas Anderson’s Inherent Vice opened in ninth with £363,133, followed by the Met Opera’s latest live event Les Contes D’Hoffmann in tenth with £238,597.
