Adam West wants to play Thomas Wayne in Ben Affleck’s The Batman

October 25, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Having reprised the role of the Dark Knight for the animated movie Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders this year, Adam West has revealed that he’s now keen on another DC role, as he’d like to cameo in Ben Affleck’s The Batman – and he even has a specific role in mind.

“Absolutely,” said West when asked by Comic Book if he’s keen on a cameo in the DC Extended Universe. “You know what I’d love to do? Those guys are all wonderful talents in their own ways, and they approach the role differently, but if I could approach it in a darker way, of course, in a more serious way, however, it would be wonderful to play Bruce Wayne’s father coming back. You know he was murdered, but coming back one dark and stormy lightning-riven night through a library window. Bruce Wayne is there thinking, ‘I’ll never solve this. This is the most difficult thing in my life.’ In comes old dad, like a bat, almost.”

Thomas Wayne did of course appear in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, where he was portrayed by The Walking Dead’s Jeffrey Dean Morgan, so his ghost would have had to have aged considerably if Affleck decided to take West up on his offer. Meanwhile, Morgan has also recently expressed his interest in reprising the role of Thomas Wayne, should Warner Bros. decide to do an adaptation of Flashpoint.

Would you like to see West cameoing in The Batman or any other DC Extended Universe movie, and what role could he play? Let us know in the comments below…
