Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. showrunners promise more big Marvel superhero guest stars

March 4, 2014 by admin

One of the main criticisms levied towards Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been the lack of guest stars from both the Marvel Cinematic and comic book universes, although the producers of the show appear to be making steps to rectify that, having give a debut to the cyborg superhero Deathlok, as well as gearing up to deliver a Sif-centric episode, with Jaimie Alexander reprising her role from Thor and Thor: The Dark World.

Speaking to Comic Book Resources, showrunners Maurissa Tancharoen and Jed Whedon responded to a question asking if Deathlok is the biggest superhero character the show will ever feature, with the duo promising that even bigger names are on the horizon:

“If they’re excited about Deathlok, then they should be excited about the things to come….We have some other very fun guest stars in the pipeline,” said Tancharoen, with Whedon adding: ” We’re in a weird spot, because if the character is big and cool enough, then they’re probably planning a movie [Laughs]. We have a fairly large list of characters that we have at our disposal, and we plan on exploring all of them.”

Which Marvel characters would you like to see appearing on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.? Let us know in the comments below or head on over to The Flickering Myth Forum…
