Amandla Stenberg joins Damien Chazelle’s The Eddy

May 9, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Amandla Stenberg (The Hate U Give) has signed on for a lead role in The Eddy, the upcoming musical drama from Netflix and Oscar-winning director Damien Chazelle (La La Land, First Man).

The straight-to-series drama takes place a Parisian nightclub and will see Stenberg taking on the role of Julie, the teenage daughter of Andre Holland’s (Moonlight) Elliot, who shows up suddenly in Paris and forces him to face his past. Joanna Kulig (Cold War) also stars as Maja, a club singer and on-again-off-again partner to Elliot.

Filming on The Eddy is set to get underway in France in the spring, with Chazelle directing episodes along with Houda Benyamina (Divines) and Alan Poul (Tales of the City).
