Björk confirmed to play the Slav Witch in Robert Eggers’ The Northman

August 19, 2020 by EJ Moreno

Robert Eggers, the man behind cult horror hits The Witch and The Lighthouse, is returning with his new project, the Viking epic The Northman, which is shaping up to feature his most star-studded line-up of actors yet.

The Lighthouse’s Willem Dafoe and The Witch’s Anya Taylor-Joy and Kate Dickie are reuniting with the filmmaker alongside Eggers newcomers like Alexander Skarsgård, Ethan Hawke and Nicole Kidman. And now in a new behind-the-scenes video posted on Instagram, it appears that Icelandic singer songwriter Bjork is confirmed to feature in The Northman as “The Slav Witch”, marking her first major film appearance since 2000’s Dancer In The Dark. Check out these images from the Instagram story here…

In these images from The Northman‘s cast line-up, we also see that Alexander Skarsgård will take on the lead role in the film. He’ll play Amleth, a Viking at the center of this film’s twisted revenge tale. Specific plot details for The Northman are being kept under wraps, but Eggers has enlisted an incredible cast for the film.
