Casey Affleck teams with Alfonso Cuaron for horror TV drama

October 19, 2017 by Gary Collinson

According to Deadline, Anonymous Content is shopping around a new TV drama package which has Oscar-winning filmmaker Alfonso Cuaron attached to write and direct, with Academy Award-winning actor Casey Affleck on board to star.

Although details are being kept under wraps, the site reports that the project is a horror, and tracks the origins of a cult. Both Cuaron and Affleck are set to executive produce, and there is said to be interest from multiple cable and streaming outlets.

The as-yet-untitled series would mark the first TV series role for Manchester By the Sea star Affleck, whose upcoming feature film projects include Old Man and the Gun and Light of My Life, the latter of which he also writes and directs. Cuaron meanwhile will release his next film Roma in 2018.
