Martin Carr reviews the second episode of Scream: The TV Series season 2… If Scream had been entertaining this week or even mildly diverting, then it may have deserved to steal Hitchcock’s title. If there had been some decent progressions, diversionary bloodletting and clever segues this conversation might have been different. However what ‘Psycho’ became very […]
Scream: The TV Series Season 2 Episode 1 Review – ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’
Martin Carr reviews the first episode of Scream: The TV Series season 2…Funded by Netflix but carrying the MTV logo Scream emerges from the rubble of season one where it earned renewal, with some serious backing and bulked up production value. Now it resides on the cable equivalent of HBO, we get a full eighteen […]
Wayward Pines Season 2 Episode 2 Review – ‘Blood Harvest’
Martin Carr reviews the second episode of Wayward Pines season 2…I was wrong and admit it. Whatever my misgivings about last week’s opener things have changed down in Wayward Pines. That needless re-tread which constituted episode one, left no time for progression, proved noticeably useless and removed any tension with devastating efficiency. There was no […]
Preacher Season 1 Episode 1 Review – ‘Pilot’
Martin Carr reviews the first episode of Preacher…If Tarantino did comic book adaptations Preacher would surely be at the top of his wish list. Frenetically shocking, blood soaked yet concise, what remains the biggest surprise in its opening minutes are Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg. For men who are more associated with Judd Apatow, man-child […]

Martin Carr reviews the twenty-first episode of Gotham season 2…Back in the saddle and circling the wagons is how I can best describe my position right now. With the re-emergence of a person we thought ourselves well rid of Gotham throws another spanner in the works. To reveal is to spoil but suffice to say […]

Martin Carr reviews the season finale of Supergirl season 1…Once more I find myself late to the party. A week behind on finale analysis after all that dust has settled and we stand in the aftermath of Supergirl Mark II. As ever it was work which put pay to deadlines, but that would be a […]
Gotham Season 2 Episode 19 Review – ‘Azrael’
Martin Carr reviews the nineteenth episode of Gotham season 2…Gotham is turning into a spider web. Multiple plotlines, character threads and so many balls in the air, it makes every episode an interesting proposition. With the emergence of a brainwashed ex-Mayor of Gotham running rampant in forged steel armour, James Frain finally gets to let […]
