Villordsutch reviews Danger Girl: The Chase! #2 and #4…
Due to the rather quick release between issues of Danger Girl: The Chase! #3 and #4 I’ve decided that I will stick both reviews together to make this all a bit easier to digest. As a fair few of you may remember my first introduction to Danger Girl was way back in issue #2 and my main distraction with the comic then was the rather huge glands strapped to the tiny frames of these women and I’ll be honest this was also a distraction across these two issues also.
Before I delve into the overly ample bosoms of these trained killers I’ll give you a rundown of what is happening within these issues and it’s going to be difficult to do it with more than two sentences as that is about the length of the plot that writer Andy Hartnell scribbled down. Abbey (said Danger Girl) has managed to gain control of the “Case” (with the McGuffin inside) and is still be pursued by Asia (evil woman) as she attempts to regain of the Case for whatever reason. Also involved in this chase is the other Good Guy’s hired goons, Asia’s hired goons and also Abbey’s friends and colleagues, who attempt to retrieve the case and rescue Abbey from all of the goons and Asia. Midway through all of this chasing some bad mojo leaks out of the case which also has the added effect of showing you the bones in your hands or stripping the clothes and then the flesh from Asia (don’t worry, no nipples are seen) before a giant reset button is hit.
I’ll be honest here, as I like to be – these comics have not been the greatest read nor do I consider them anything other than teenage titillation that does nothing for the comic industry other than to keep it firmly locked in the 1990s, in the time of small waists and big breasts. That being said even back in the 1990s the primary focus wasn’t on just tits. The nonsense in these pages is just that, as boobs are squashed into incredibly tight clothing and with the added elements of a few guns and explosions for when the talking starts – so you don’t get bored with the wordy bits. I’m unsure if Andy Hartnell wanted his story to play out with the primary focus being on large breasts, but if he didn’t I hope he words with Harvey Tolibao who has drawn it in such a way.
If you’re lonely and you’ve never really matured since your hormones kicked into gear from when you were a 15 year old boy/girl way back when, then perhaps Danger Girl will be your thing; for those of us that have gotten past ogling girl’s boobs as a hobby then I’d advise you steer clear of this series of comics.
