Costume designer Michael Wilkinson “tweaking” the Man of Steel suit for Batman vs. Superman

December 20, 2013 by admin

We’ve already heard from Kevin Smith about the new Batsuit set to be worn by Ben Affleck’s Dark Knight in Batman vs. Superman (which he described as “fantastic” and “mindbending”), and now costume designer Michael Wilkinson (Watchmen, Man of Steel) has revealed that he’s putting the finishing touches to the various superhero outfits ahead of filming early next year

“We are now in the stage where we’re refining our designs with the last series of camera tests and doing our final tweaks in preparation for shooting,” Wilkinson tells CineMovie, before revealing that he’s also “tweaking” Henry Cavill’s Superman suit, as well as developing Affleck’s Batsuit and creating the look for Wonder Woman’s (Gal Gadot) big screen debut.

So, if Superman’s Man of Steel suit is getting a bit of a redesign, what changes would you like to see made?

Batman vs. Superman is set for release on July 17th 2015, with a cast that also includes returning Man of Steel stars Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Diane Lane (Martha Kent) and Lawrence Fishburne (Perry White). If rumours are to be believed, Joaquin Phoenix (Her) is director Zack Snyder’s pick for the main villain – thought to be Lex Luthor – while Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones) is also said to be on the studio’s radar.
