Dave Bautista throws his hat in the ring for Suicide Squad 2 role

October 10, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Last night it was revealed that Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn is heading to the DC Extended Universe to write and potentially director Suicide Squad 2 for Warner Bros. and DC Films, and now one of his Guardians cast members has expressed their interest in linking up with the director once again.

Posting to Twitter to share the news of Gunn’s appointment, Drax the Destroyer actor Dave Bautista commented “Where do I sign up!”

Bautista’s comments don’t come as much of a surprise, given that he was very vocal about his anger over Disney’s decision to fire Gunn from Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The former WWE star said that he would find it “pretty nauseating” to work for Disney in the future, and suggested he’d be asking for a release from his Marvel contract if Gunn’s script for Guardians Vol. 3 wasn’t used.

As yet, there’s no word on what Gunn might be planning for the Suicide Squad follow-up, but there’s surely a number of potential roles for Bautista among the pantheon of DC villains. Let us know who you’d like to see him playing in the comments below…
