DC Studios to produce Dynamic Duo animated movie focussing on two Robins

October 6, 2024 by EJ Moreno

Puppets? Dick Grayson and Jason Todd? DC Studios is cooking something up with this latest news.

If you thought Joker 2‘s musical romp was an experiment for the DC brand, Dynamic Duo will soon enter production. This will be the first joint project between DC Studios and the Bill Damaschke-led WBPA.

Little is known about the project, but it will follow the early days of Dick Grayson and Jason Todd, aka the Robins. Matt Reeves is attached to produce, but it will not occur in his The Batman universe.

From a script by Matthew Aldrich, Dynamic Duo will be made by a new animation studio out of New Orleans named Swaybox and its husband-and-wife creators, Arthur Mintz and Theresa Andersson. Mintz will helm the film.

Swaybox is known for a technology called ‘Momo animation,’ a cross between CGI animation, practical elements of stop-motion, and live-action real-time performance. It’s described as “visually breathtaking, dynamically expressive, and more human.”

“I have wanted to make a film with Arthur and Swaybox for many years, and for that film to be Dynamic Duo, an incredibly special and unique Batman and Robin story for families, is a dream,” Reeves said.

Stay tuned for more news on this project.
