Deadpool 2’s Lewis Tan expects to return for X-Force, has had talks with DC about Nightwing

July 7, 2018 by Gary Collinson

While Deadpool 2 introduced X-Force ahead of the team’s planned spinoff movie, the majority of the roster only lasted a few minutes, with Shatterstar (Lewis Tan), Bedlam (Terry Crews), Zeitgeist (Bill Skarsgard), Vanisher (Brad Pitt) and Peter (Rob Delaney) all dying just moments into their first mission.

As we saw in one of the post credits scenes, Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) used Cable’s (Josh Brolin) time-travelling device to save Peter, and actor Lewis Tan believes that we’ll see the entire team back for the X-Force movie alongside Reynolds, Brolin and Zazie Beetz’s Domino.

“You’re going to see more of my character in the X-Force film… that’s what it’s looking like,” Tan tells Syfy Wire. “Thankfully, Deadpool went back and had a little time machine that he stole, so in the post-credits scene he brought back Peter, and it’s assumed that we’re all going to come back as well.”

Meanwhile Tan, who has also appeared in Marvel’s Iron Fist TV series, has revealed to That Hashtag Show that he’s had a meeting with Warner Bros. and DC Films, during which they discussed the role of Dick Grayson in the Nightwing movie.

“I know Chris McKay wants a martial artist, right, so that’s out there. He’s following me on Twitter, you know…there’s a lot of good juju vibes out there for that. Nothing that I can say that is confirmed. This is a project that he’s still developing and I sat down with DC, with some of the executives at DC, and they’re big fans, I’m a big fan, obviously. My father came to America, because of Batman (Tan’s father worked on Tim Burton’s 1989 film) and, you know, I definitely want to see that come full circle and give back.

“I’m not trading in my Marvel roots, because they started me, but DC started my dad, so it would be nice to go over there and play around and find the right thing. So we’re looking for the right thing and there were a lot of different talks and Nightwing was one of those that were mentioned, so we’ll see.”

As McKay has previously revealed, Warner Bros. will be casting a wide net for the role of Nightwing, so early talks certainly don’t mean that we can expect to see Tan announced as Dick Grayson in the immediate future. Still, let us know in the comments below whether you think he’d be a good fit for the former Boy Wonder, and if you’re hoping to see Shatterstar and company making their return in the X-Force movie…
