Djimon Hounsou to star in Wayward Pines season 2

February 18, 2016 by Amie Cranswick

Earlier this month it was revealed that Jason Patric (The Lost Boys, Narc) has joined the hit series Wayward Pines for its second season, and now Fox has announced that he’ll also be joined by Djimon Hounsou (Blood Diamond, Guardians of the Galaxy).

Variety is reporting that Hounsou will play “CJ Mitchum, an original resident of Wayward Pines and a historian for the town with extensive knowledge of its complex origins, and the one person who can provide a unique bridge between the current world of Wayward Pines and the previous world that humans inhabited.”

The ten-episode second season of the M. Night Shyamalan-produced show is set to get underway in the summer, and “will pick up after the first season with the residents of Wayward Pines battling against the iron-fisted rule of the First Generation. As events unfold in Wayward Pines, the thoughtful and philosophical Mitchum (Hounsou), a former teacher, makes a decision that will affect the fate of Wayward Pines and every resident living there.”
